Police have cracked an international fraud syndicate that duped people by selling them sham wedding certificates, forged passports and school results. Authorities allege that the syndicate was involved in cheating people of thousands of ringgit by selling them counterfeit certificates. According to a statement released by the Royal Malaysia Police yesterday, the gang was operating on three levels - from providing forged documents for sale to printing them for sale, and finally getting hold of legitimate documents for sale.
